A feel for the place

Meet Pila.

Pila is the ski resort directly above Aosta, in Italy's Aosta Valley. The Aosta–Pila gondola leaves from the city, a few minutes' walk from Aosta railway station and close to the motorway exit, and reaches the village at around 1,800m in 18 minutes, with free parking at the bottom station. Lifts climb to 2,723m, with views over the Aosta Valley's high peaks, and the Pila–Stella gondola also serves the area. Pistes suit every level, with freeride terrain, the Chacard fun park and the Area Effe snowpark, plus ski schools, rentals and heated ski storage in Pila and Aosta. Staying in Aosta's centre means city hotels with the slopes a gondola ride away.
