Les Deux Alpes is one of France’s big-name high-altitude resorts, celebrated for glacier skiing that keeps snow quality reliable and seasons long. The main slopes rise quickly above the village, opening to wide, confidence-building terrain up high and more varied pitches as you drop. Off the hill the mood is lively, with a long main drag of bars and shops and a youthful energy that lasts well into the evening. 

A signature here is the top-to-bottom journey from the glacier all the way to Mont-de-Lans without taking a single lift — a satisfying, varied descent that shows off the area’s full vertical in one go. Park fans are well catered for too, with a long tradition of freestyle features and zones when conditions permit.

Les 2 Alpes Bike Park (Summer from 13 June to 30 August)
