About Alyeska Resort

Alyeska Resort lies in Girdwood, Alaska, about 40 miles south of Anchorage, where the Chugach Mountains rise straight above the waters of the Turnagain Arm. The ski area climbs directly from the resort’s hotel base and has a reputation for steep, deep terrain for experts, alongside easy runs for beginners and a wide spread of intermediate trails in between. An aerial tram lifts guests high onto the mountain for views across the Chugach and down to the inlet, and night skiing lengthens the short Alaskan winter days. Girdwood is a small year-round mountain community with restaurants, bars and shops, and the drive from Anchorage follows the scenic Seward Highway along the Turnagain Arm.
